Talongaze slowly padded to the slippery rocks. It had been a long day, and she needed some time to relax. The roar of the waterfall did not disturb her, in fact, it made her feel calm and at ease. Why can't every day be like this? she thought. So calm and peaceful, like the old days...

Ferretstar padded silently towards her deputy
The forever calm look that she held in her eyes deepened
as the sound of the water took its toll.
She purred a greeting to Talongaze then sat beside the other.

"Hello, Ferretstar" she mewed sadly. She looked at her leader with awe. She had everything. And she gave it all up to lead her clan she thought, and stared into the cascading falls.

but then the expression softened as the sad meow reached her.

but she was curious by nature.

"Its-It's oh I don't know" she turned away, ashamed of what she was about to say. "It's just-I miss him!" she wailed, finally opening up her real feelings to anyone. Sorrow dulled her normally bright and energetic ice-blue eyes.

Ferretstar tried not to be taken back
by the sudden outburst.
She leaned back on her haunches
and mewed, {Who?}
She had known the pain of somecat going
and tried not to let the memories seep in...yet.

Gorse and I-Talon at the time-were training them on how to defend themselves, hunt, fish, swim, when they were about the age of an apprentice, but only 5 moons old." she closed her eyes, and a single tear slithered down her face. "And then the FirePack came." Ice blue fury burned in her eyes. Hatred, Sorrow, and Love were all mixed inside her, her eyes reflecting it.
