Cloudedkit paused. Is that really true? Is that what he really thinks of me? He swallowed with one last glance at Shadowkit, he called out, "Hey, I'm goin back to camp." Then he dashed off, hoping he could find his way back...

Shadowkit shrugged. "We would do better without him anyway!" the tiny tom whisered silently to his striped chestnut brother, then laughed to himself. "come on! let's hurry so we can get there by dusk!"

"Fine but if we get eaten, I blame you" Stripedkit muttered, bounding after Shadowkit. At least Cloudedkit would be safe in camp. The forest at night was a scary place, Stripedkit had seen it. A slight shiver ran down his spine but he kept up a steady pace, running almost alongside his ebony brother.

The midnight tom paused, "Come on! We are right behind the tree!" he peaked around. "waah!" he shreiked. "there are 2 warriors over there! what should we do they'll see us!"
