"That's nice" Brokenheart said dully. "It's an improvement at least. Well, I think I've taken up enough of your day."
Brokenheart got to her paws and started to walk toward the entrance to the den, thinking dimly of going to hunt again just to ease her mind and keep it off of her aching heart. The only problem was she ran into a black tom that goes by the name of Demonstorm. Brokenheart stumbled back quickly.

Demonstorm shook his head sadly. Why did he feel like this? Maybe he should just tell her. But she thinks that she's a bother. What should he do? Four things that kept rnning around his mind. He shook his head again, trying to clear it. "No I need to tell you something. Brokenheart I..." he trailed off again, it was as though his voice refused to utter those words.

Brokenheart looked at him questioningly. "What is it Demonstorm? If you want to come with me, I think I'd rather do this hunt alone."
The brown tabby tried to sidestep him and found her path still blocked. Now she was starting to get annoyed.

just do it, he told himself, just say it! Demonstorm took a deep breath and almost shouted, "Brokenheart I think I love you!" Before turning and running from the den as quick as he could.

Brokenheart was frozen to the spot in shock. Her heart twisted violently when Demonstorm turned and fled. Why was he running? Brokenheart's mind snapped into action. The fleetfooted fae ran after him. He had a headstart on her as they ran into the forest but she was fast even if she wouldn't admit it. Brokenheart extended her stride, closing the gap a bit.
"Wait Demonstorm!" she called but she was sure he didn't hear her.

Demonstorm had curled up in between some nearby roots. From where he was he could see and hear Brokenheart. He stayed in the darkness of the tree but his gold eyes shone out as they always did, betraying his position if she were to look this way.

Brokenheart stopped just outside of Demonstorm's hiding place but looked everywhere but in the right direction. A frown etched onto her features and unhappiness showed in her eyes. With an exhusted sigh Brokenheart walked over to a nearby tree and leapt into the low branches. If she couldn't find Demonstorm, she'd simply wait until he went back to camp.
It seemed so simple until....
Brokenheart leapt onto a branch. There was an echoing CRACK. The branch gave out. Brokenheart only had time to yowl once before she tumbled toward the ground. There was a dull thud and Brokenheart landed on the ground, stunned and dazed, completely limp.

Demonstorm heard the crack first, everything else seemed to happen in slowl motion. He watched her body hit the floor and he was sure he saw it bounce. But she was limp. He stepped from his position and lay down in front of her. "Brokenheart? He could hardly speak and his voice seemed so raw, so harsh.

Brokenheart didn't respond. Her eyes stared blankly at nothing in particular. She was stunned, unable to move and speak. Her body ached all over and her mind was moving slowly. Someone said her name but it sounded like a whisper. She tried to respond but her voice seemed to have locked itself away. She tried to move, her paws only twitch akwardly. Brokenheart was breathing shallowly. It felt like thorns were pricking every inch of her as her nerves and body tried to recovered from the sudden drop. [/center]

"Brokenheart, please speak to me," Demonstorm pleaded, desperation clear in his voice. "You need help, but I can't leave you, I refuse to leave you"

Brokenheart slowly regained movement and moved her head a bit to look at Demonstorm. "I'm....alright I think" she said. "Stunned...that's all."
The brown tabby slowly flexed each leg, wincing at the protest of her aching bones and muscles. No fast movement for a little while.

Closing his eyes in a grateful silence, Demonstorm let her voice wash over him. "I'm sorry," he whispered, "This is my fault" He carefully moved over and licked Brokenhearts ears softly.

Brokenheart shook her head. "I didn't judge it right. You blame yourself too much Demonstorm. A fall like that wouldn't kill me. Higher up yes but not that low."
The brown tabby nuzzled Demonstorm's neck before letting her head rest back against the ground, making no move to stand. She just laid there.

Demonstorm couldn't hide the smile creeping on his face.he moved to the side of her. "We should get you back to camp and seen to," he murmured into her fur.

Brokenheart nodded but made no move to stand. She was still a bit achy and the comfort of laying next to Demonstorm was starting to draw sleep in. After a few moments the she-cat decided to test her limbs.
Very slowly Brokenheart rose to her paws. She swayed a bit and moved slowly back toward camp. "Yes you're right. I'd say I could sleep for a moon but I doubt anyone would let me do that."
