Shadows swayed gently over the forest floor, the pine needles turning copper when hit by the hot greenleaf sun. Lionstar padded quietly through the tall pine trees as birds chirped high above. A chaffinch flew down from it's perch to peck at the ground in search of food. The golden pelted tom stopped and fell into a hunter's crouch. Pulling himself forward quickly and silently, Lionstar got closer and closer to his prey. When he was just a tail-length away, he pounced. The bird fell under the cat's golden paws without a sound and Lionstar gave it a finishing bite. Pulling it under a tree and scrapping dirt and pine needles over it, he looked around, ears pricked.

A slim onyx colored rogue slipped through the trees, in search of prey. He openned his mouth slightly, but shut it as soon as he scented the clan leader. Millie crouched down, trying to stay unseen, yet at the same time get the distance between the two cats shorter. He hissed silently, not making a single sound, when a bird cried an alarm call.

Lionstar let his mind wander slightly as he listened and scented for prey. There had been a few reports of rogue scent lately and it seemed that there were some hiding in ThunderClan territory, or near it. It was against the warrior code to shelter any who did not follow the warrior code; they were to be driven out. Suddenly a bird's alarm call made Lionstar snap back to full attention and he cursed himself for becoming unguarded. Whipping his head around he parted his jaw to scent the air. Rogue! the golden leader thought. He slipped around, moving downwind of the intruder. He could see the black pelt, standing out from among the pine trees with no undergrowth to hide in. Lionstar combined the hunting crouches used for birds, rabbits and other prey, allowing him to move forward quickly and silently. Then he burst into a run, tackling the rogue.

Millie, who was totally prepared for the jump, whipped around, shaking the giant golden brute off. His claws unsheathed and it dove for Lionstars neck. His paw landed close to his chest, and streamed across, scarlet blood ozzing out, and leaving a sweet scent in the air. Millie focused on the tom's movements, becoming a part of him and moving as he moved. He ducked out of the way as the brutes lunges and strikes for his fragile bodice. The feral moved out of reach of the ThunderClan leader, shadowing himself in the dark night shadows. He crouched, slowly moving backwards and then forwards again. It was his turn to stalk the prey, his turn for the jump. So he steadied himself then leaped unto the golden tomcat. His claws attached to the firm muscles on his shoulders, his banner waving to keep him steady and then he bit away, aiming mostly for his neck.

[Hey, give me a chance to respond! Lionstar is an amazing warrior, he won't be taken by a rogue that easily!!]
Lionstar scratch at his opponent, dodging his attacks. There were no shadows dark enough to hide the jet black pelt of the intruder. When the rogue leaped onto his back he moved to the side and rolled, slamming the cat into a tree. He pushed the cat against the tree hard, until he felt the claws on his shoulders loosen. Then he moved, fast as a WindClan cat, and crashed the rogue into another tree, fulling removing his claws from Lionstar's flesh. Lionstar whipped around as he became free and pinned the rogue down. He was bigger than the rogue, healthier from living with his clan. He sunk his fangs into the rogue's neck, biting deep almost enough to kill but not quite.

[Yeah, really sorry about that, i was just trying my best to keep it longer instead of real short.]
Millie's whole body stung after he got flung into the tree. He stumbled around, but still contained his balance. He slunk around, quietly and fast, but not fast enough. He watched as the golden leader jumped him, then landed, his claws sinking in, releasing red blood. This battle was definately going to leave some fresh wounds to show off to his friends once he got out of here, if he could survive. Lionstar had him pinned against the ground, his throat clenched in the brutes jaws. "You little peice of roadkill!" Millie managed to saw through clenched teeath, while at the same time gasping for air.

"Who's roadkill?!" Lionstar growled through a mouthful of fur. He loosed his hold on the rogue's neck and spat, "This is ThunderClan's territory. Leave now or stay to regret it."
[Aaagh!! So short! But I couldn't think of anything else before your response.]

Millie's fur rose on the back of his neck. He glared at the golden tom, and growled fiercly, showing no sign of backing off now. The feral slunk forward, whisking his way around Lionstar. The leaves around the two cats fell around, and when Millie stepped on one it cracked as if frozen, even though it was almost green-leaf. The brute stopped in front of the leader, and shoved his face into his. "Make me." He hissed through clenched teeth.
[yeah, sometimes I can't think of anything either!]

"With pleasure," Lionstar hissed. He leaped at the rogue again, turning the two cats into a rolling, writhing ball of fur, claws and teeth. Lionstar bit and scratched at every opportunity, gouging scratches through the black fur of his opponent to his flesh. The golden leader's fangs ripped at the black tom's muscles, biting into his shoulders. Around them the pine trees stood still, like a crowd, bating it's breath for the outcome of the battle. Pine needles cushioned the toms as they fought, occasionally sticking to fur before being torn off again.
[We need to decide whose going to win.]

[ok, its probably gonna be Lionstar, I think Millie's gonna run away, but then plan another attack on the whole clan with his rogue friends.] Millie screeched as the tom ripped at his flesh. He turned his bodice around and swung blindly at his face, aiming for his green orbs. His banner flew around, keeping him balanced as he tore at Liomstar as Lionstar tore him. The needles and leaves kept them safe from the wood and sticks around them. Millie stalked forward, pretending the brute was a mouse, and hunted him down. Once he was close enough, he pounced, his claws attaching to the leaders flank.

Lionstar fought furiously. This was his clan's territory, what kind of leader would he be if he couldn't drive off on rogue? Lionstar again sank his fangs into the rogue's neck, biting deep. As his jaws tightened around his opponent's neck, the golden tom's claws raked across the black tom's back.
[museless. grrr.]

Millie yowled in pain, and tried desperately to jump out of the tom's hold; but Lionstar held tighter. The ebony brute snarled and clawed at Lionstar's belly, and drasticaly pulled hisself out. But soon after, he collapsed on the floor, and his heartbeat slowed as the battle ended. He clutched his neck in agony, as he felt blood spilling out, and hes back was stinging as if a million wasps had just stung him. [Ditto, I can almost never think of anything to say!]

Lionstar stood back, panting slightly from the fight. "You've lost. Get off ThunderClan territory now," the golden leader growled. Around them the scenery remained almost unchanged. The pine trees still stood still with no breeze to ruffle their branches; the sun had raised itself as the day continued, making the shadows shorter. The pine needles around the two toms were stained with blood, as were the trunks and roots of the trees used for battle.

Millie hissed his farewell, and made his way to the rogue territories, wondering where his friends were. The tom stopped once he was far enough away, glanced back but saw that the leader was still watching him. As soon as Millie crossed the border, and into ShadowClan's the scent of mouse wafted over and he crouched down. He searched for his prey, and saw it was yet again in ThunderClan territory. The onyx brute slid back over, and in the corner of his eye he spotted the brown and grey rodent knawing on a walnut. Millie made his way over slowly, not wanting the golden brute to find him. But as soon as he got close enough to the mouse, he pounced, but missed. The mouse darted away and into the bushes. But Millie knew the secret. He waited awhile, his orbs never leaving the bushes. And then crouched next to the holly bush, and then pounced, right in the middle, and shook it with his paws. The tiny rodent darted out, and millie then pounced, biting its neck and hearing its spine crack.

Lionstar watches the rogue leave. When the black tom is out of site, Lionstar turns to leave but suddenly he hears a rustling of leaves. Growling, the golden leader bounds over, tackling the intruder once again. "I told you to get off ThunderClan territory!" Lionstar hissed, digging his claws back into the other tom's flesh.
[No muse = short post ;-;]
