Loving Death

Darkheart and Stormeyes ran through the forest laughing. Darkheart felt as if she was a apprentice again. There tails intwined, they stopped, panting. Then, Darkheart noticed something. "Badger!" Darkheart screeched taking attack postion. Stormeyes did the same. It was a female, and her mate. Also, there was a 1 year old pup. Usually Badgers were solitary creatures, but not in this case. As the 3 dangerous creatures ganged up on the 2 cats, Darkheart and Stormeyes fought together, back to back. They were almost invinceable. As they killed the pup and mother, the father was enraged. Cougarpaw lept to the rescue, and soon found himself on the ground, spewing blood. He killed the cats giving them a long, slow death. As he retreated, Darkheart looked into Stormeyes soft gray eyes. "I love you." he murmured. "I love you to." Darkheart coughed. And with looking each other in the eyes, they died. Cougarpaw coughed, and with the coughs came blood. He refused to join Starclan until he saw Streampaw one last time.

Streampaw raced through the trees of the small forest. Cougarpaw had been gone for a while and the sounds of battle had ceased. Her lithe gray tabby and white form became a blur as she sped onward. Her breathe came in gasps as she reached the battle-field. "Cougarpaw!" she screeched. "Darkheart, Stormeyes!" Streampaw dashed forward, crouching beside her injured friends. Grief filled her eyes as she realized that Darkheart and Stormeyes had already joined StarClan. "Cougarpaw . . . " she whispered crouching beside her friend. She licked his wounds and looked around frantically for soemthing to stop the bleeding. She grabbed a cobweb and pressed it to one of Cougarpaw's wounds. It was quickly soaked with blood.

Cougarpaw continued to spew out blood for minutes even after both of the warriors had died, Cougarpaw was gasping for breath, taking in each breath now, with rapid speed. He hadn't yet told Streampaw he loved her, and he wasn't just going to die now, not till he had.
Cougarpaw could feel his heart beat slowing and dragged his cream paws toward himself, no, not yet, he wasn't going to leave for StarClan yet. StarClan would just have to wait till he was old and weary before he let them take him. Blinking, Cougarpaw ceased the spewing of blood, as if a warm light had washed over him, Cougarpaw felt warmth against his pelt, at first he thought he was imagining things, but as he glanced out of the corner of his eye he saw Streampaw, he heard her whisper his name and Cougarpaw thought everything was going to be alright, now that Streampaw was here. He didn't expect the the sudden jolt of pain that would suddenly stab his throat, nor did he expect how painful this experience would be. He yowled in pain as he throat seemed to be stabbed by millions of razor sharp thorns. Slowly his eyes closed. When Cougarpaw saw the bright light that shone ahead of him, his first thought was that he had died. Until he heard the soft, soothing voice of a mother. Whispering to him from the light.
Don't be afraid to listen to the voices of your heart. If you try hard enough, the words that you keep locked away deep inside will be revealed to the one you love.
Suddenly the voice stopped, and Cougarpaw begged for this unknown cat to continue speaking, for her voice seemed to make Cougarpaw feel much better inside his aching chest, but his words were ignored as the light slowly faded, replaced by the blazing sunlight that shone brightly through the trees, covering Cougarpaw and Streampaw with a heavenly light. The bleeding through his fresh wounds slowly started to cease until it was nothing more than dried blood that encrusted the injuries.
"S-Streampaw..." Cougarpaw stammered, looking up into the pale, green eyes of the only cat he ever wanted to lead his heart. He gasped several more breaths before saying the long-awaited words that were long over-due to be spoken."I-I-I love you."
No more than a second passed before Cougarpaw slipped back into unconsciousness, his breathing steady once more, but every once and a while it quickened as if this peaceful breathing was only given by the cats of StarClan, when the spell broke, his breathing started to rapidly turn to gasps. Seconds passed and then his breathing would once more be peaceful. It seemed to be that the cause of his fainting now was only because the shock and stress he burdened after seeing the death of two Clanmates, this is what caused him to rest to peacefully in a unexpected sleep.

Streampaw dropped the cobweb she had been pressing to Cougarpaw's scars. I love you... The words seemed to echo in the tabby apprentice's head. She thought back to all the times she had spent with Cougarpaw, hunting together back in RiverClan, playing the the river in this strange gorge territory of SkyClan and all the other wonderful times she had had with him. Also, his slightly strange behavior around her lately suddenly made sense. Streampaw pressed her muzzle to Cougarpaw's and meowed, "I love you too."

As if a miracle from Starclan, Badgerfang came padding up. When she saw Darkheart and Stormeyes dead, and Cougarpaw dying, She ran off. She soon returned with cobweb, pressing it to Cougarpaws wounds. Her work paid off, as she stopped the blood from leaving Cougarpaw. Badgerfang looked at Streampaw who seemed as if she was in a daze. "Streampaw dont just sit around all day like a piece of fox dung come help me!" Badgerfang growled. She usually would never use such grammor around a apprentice but a cats life was at stake here. Cougarpaw started to breathe more normally now.

Streampaw was startled by Badgerfang's sharp tone and shook her head to clear her mind. "W-what should I do?" she meowed nervous, but gaining courage from Cougarpaw's slowly improving condition. She would do all she could to help.

Cougarpaw twitched a little bit in pain, though his mind was in his dreams, he seemed to be able to feel the pain of his outer body. Slowly, he began to awaken from his dreams, he twitched his optics as he looked up at the sky above, to weary to raise his head from the turf. He watched as dark clouds started to cover the sun and a light snow fall began to fall, how pretty, it was like StarClan telling him that Darkheart and Stormeye had made it safely to StarClan, and that they were watching over him now. "S-Streampaw?" The lithe apprentice coughed, wondering if the she-cat was still there. He felt the soft padding of another cat, and his first thought was Streampaw, but then as he flicked his ears, he realized that the cat was Badgerfang. Thank StarClan the medicine cat had arrived.

"Go get me some more cobweb." she meowed.

Streampaw raced into the forest, glancing around for cobwebs. Finding some, she wrapped it around her paw and bounded back to Badgerfang and Cougarpaw. "Here," she mewed, passing it to the medicine cat.

Badgerfang took the cobwebs and pressed them to the last of Cougarpaw's bleeding wounds. "Hes going to make it." Badgerfang said with a sigh of relief.

[Let's say Cougarpaw and Streampaw already returned to RiverClan. Then they died from something, cause Greeny doesn't get on her anymore. And if he dies, Streampaw dies cause that was her last friend. ><]
