Echopaw paced around, waiting for her mentor and Skystar. Today was the big day; her assesment! Ussualy she was a very patient cat, but today she just couldn't wait, and she knew she was going to do great on it. She used to sneack out with Stonepaw, now Stonefall, but once she realizzed the chance of not being able to become a warrior for a while, she stopped. She had focused real hard after that. Now her speed was unbeleivable, but every windclan cats was, and her legs werefelt strong enough to push a tree down.

A hurried brown tabby she-cat trotted across the WindClan's camp. Skystar had almost completely forgotten about poor Echopaws assessment, she must be getting impatient now. She saw the apprentice not far off pacing around the camp, Skystar, rather un-leaderlike, skidded to a halt before Echopaw. "Terribly sorry, young'un. I'm so scatter brained thins morning." She stuttered. "Where is your mentor?" Her leafy green eyes scanned the surrounding, unable to spot anyone intending on coming over.
OOC: Whos her mentor? X__x

here comes the rain again falling from the stars drenched in my pain again becoming who we are
Echopaw sat down and silently waited for the arival of the leader. I think she's in the warriors den. She had a long day; working both night and day for two days strait. Her eyes were blazed with ditermination, ready to show this leader just how great of a warrior she would be. Her paws were moving as if she were ready to go, but she was accually very patient. The ginger apprentice looked strait into Skystar's orbs, cocked her head and wondered what would happen next. Echopaw looked around after a while, seeing all the warriors gone felt weird, they definately were in need of new warriors. But thinking about becoming a queen and mother seemed even more exciting than being a warrior. She almost wished she could have kits of her own, or at least some day. But no one likes me... She thought to herself, I wonder if Stonefall still remembers me, I sure do remember him... Her mind went back to focusing on warrior duties and where she should hunt for the test. She thought that the heather bushes might be a good spot. But she was very fast, better at catching zooming rabbits than a couple of straying mice, maybe the plains would be better. She couldn't help but to think of Stonefall every other second. She loved him, and wondered if he even remembers her. Probably not that hes a warrior... But now I'm going to be a warrior! Then a horrible thought crossed her mind. What if she didn't make the assesment? What if she didn't become a warrior? Not for another moon!?
as my memory rests but never forgets what I lost

OOC: Mm'kay. We'll just post without her.
Skystar could sense the rapidly switching emotions emanating off of Echopaw. "C'mon, lets go, I'm sure you'll do fine!" She meowed in a confident tone. She trotted to the camp entrance, and slipped through. It was small, but just big enough for the small WindClan cats. Skystar shook the debris from her pelt, and sat down near by, she knew a good spot for Echopaw's assessment, but this time, she'd let her choose.

Echopaw was bouncing as she ran out the entrance, she was too excited to keep it all locked up inside her. She glanced around, looking for the best place to hunt. The plains looked nice and full today, especially with the sun out. It was probably filled with rabbits, for, she could already see two. She took off, her little paws coming on, off, on, off the ground. The speed she had was amazing, she was surprised her paws didnt catch on fire. The feel of the wind in her fur felt great, she never knew she was so fast. Then she focused. She slowed and searched for a rabbit, her bodice close to the ground, but nose in the air. A silent breeze blew through and brought the scent of rabbit with it. Her paw lead her that way, and she evantually found it. There weere two rabbits, they were chewing on a random heather, bush, distracted and an easy kill. Her paws sped up once again and she blew them over. She scratched the males side, and he got flung onto the ground, paralyzed from the shock. The other one was trying to get away, but the young femme was too quick. She got by the foot, and pulled it back. She pounced, killing it with a swift bite to the neck, and went back to the other one. She swated at it, making it a quick quick kill. She dragged the two rabbits to the heather bush, hiding them from any foxes or badgers. Then, she continued on her hunt. Her paws were silent as she crept throught the plains, her orbs scanning the area. She spotted a feild mouse by the edge of riverclan territory. If she was fast enough, she could maybe get it...

A small, impressed smile crossed Skystar's tan maw as she watched the apprentice shoot off like a bullet across the fields. The incredible speed of the apprentice was seemingly unmatched. She closly observed Echopaw's technique and style of hunting, to see if her mentor had tought her well. Indeed (s)he had. The brown tabby she-cat trotted over to the heather bush where the two rabbits were left. The bodies were left with barely even a speck of blood left on their fur. A clean kill. Skystar's bright leafy green eyes flickered to the young warrior-to-be. She seemed to be after something more, even after her near-to perfect catch, "It's alright, Echopaw!" Skystar called, as she padded over, " You need not catch more, you've done well. Be sure you are well groomed for sunset, we have a ceremony to prepare for!"
ooc;; This was her 'before-warriordom' assessment thinger, correct? ^^; Correct me if I'm wrong...

Echopaw
The panting ginger she-cat slowed her pace until it was at a complete stop, she turned her view to the souting and possibly impressed leader. Echopaw smiled widely as she heard the announcement that she would be pledged with her warrior name today, and have to stay gaurd of the camp all night. She held her head high as she raced happily back to the dawn colored fae, and took her steps high and proudly. Thank you, oh thank you! I hope you were impressed with my catches. She dipped her head as far as it would go, which was almost touching the ground, and kept it down until her neck cramped.
The smile was still spread across her face when she returned to the top, and she closed her orbs tightly. She was trying hard not the tackle her leader and give her licks of happiness. She flicked her ribbon in the direction to the camp as if asking her if she was ready to continue home. Before she moved any further, a light bulb appeared over Echopaw's head. She raced back to her catch, and happily swung it into the air with her strong WindClan jaws. She caught it once again as it dropped, nearly hitting the ground. She tugged the other one forward, hoping Skystar wouldn't realize how pathetic she was. So pathetic she couldn't pick up two rabbits at the same time.
She finally managed to have both hares in her jaw, and she quickly walked back to camp, not wanting to make a fool of herself by dropping them and staining the perfectly green grass. Of coarse, with leaf-bare coming up within the next quarter moon, the plains wouldn't be the emerald green they appeared now. They would dry up into an ugly light brown, and some patches would disapear where the snow fell heavily. As if it was a signal from StarClan, snow started to fall. Echopaw was about to burst out and run arund with happiness, but that was too kit-like. With this apprentice becoming a warrior this moonhigh, that would be uncalled for. So instead she smiled happily, her smile being oh-so-famous at this current time.
The first snow this season, and what a sight it was! It was fluffy and fell heavily, perfect for running around and leaving tracks in it. Although it was currently melting as soon as it hit the ground, Echopaw knew it would soon add up. By dusk the snow would cover the feild, and make a beautiful sight for her to gaze at as she kept her vigil.
I don't recall a single c a r e Just greenery and humid a i r

A bursting rustle of black came out of the entrance to the camp, like a bird rushing into flight. It veered at the last moment, dodging Echopaw when it nearly rammed the ginger she-cat, and slid to a stop. "Sorry, Echopaw!" Blue eyes blinked at the older apprentice. It was Rookpaw. Snowflakes drifted onto his black pelt, speckling it with white. He blinked as they fell near his eyes, and twitched his ears when they fell too close. "Was that your warrior assessment?" he guessed.
Rookpaw gazed at Echopaw. She had been training so hard lately, and she had become even faster than the warriors. She deserved to become a warrior of WindClan. But Rookpaw couldn't help wishing he was becoming a warrior as well. He was smaller than the other apprentices, but he was agile, making him able to control a battle well and defeat larger opponents. The black tom dipped his head and gave his chest a quick lick. He would become a warrior in good time. He was only a couple moons younger than Echopaw, after all. And the small apprentice always trained hard. Being a quick thinker and mover, and slow to speak, Rookpaw was an excellent apprentice.

Echopaw giggled and lightly hit the small apprentice in the head. Hey Rookpaw! And yes, that was my assesment! I'm sooo happy and I can't stop moving! She wriggled around in place, her banner tail wagging and mouth wide open, grinning like and idiot. She knew that Rookpaw was smaller than the other apprentices, and that he worked so hard to impress his mentor and everyone around him. She almost felt bad for his size, but she knew he would make it, he was a strong independant cat, and he would make a perfect father some day.
She cocked her head to the side, Where were you off to? You seemed to fly out of camp! She giggled a bit as she recalled the ebony tom's mistake as he almost knocked into her. She yawned as the sun came out from behind the clouds, warming her body on the nice afternoon. She craved more sunlight, and deffinately more warmth, but that would have to wait until new-leaf. Right now she would have to enjoy the fluffy clouds and cold snow. An idea popped into her mind, Hey, do you wanna race!? Have my last exciting little race as an apprentice before I become a warrior!? She got on her front paws, her rump still in the air. It wriggled around happily, her banner waving in the wind. The cool wind seemed to beg for the race, it craved them runing along side of it, moving at 25 miles an hour.

Rookpaw twitched his ears again as a particullarly big snowflake drifted down to his ear fur. "I was about to go hunting, I feels like I haven't been out in ages. But a race sounds great!" he meowed. He too felt the wind calling, urging them to follow it over the moor, to barely brush the dry, winter grass as they tried to join it. "How about we race to the Look-out Rock?" the small black apprentice suggested, flicking his tail at the barely visible gray lump rising out from the gorse and heather that was dry and brown from the cold. His paws were itching to move, to race not just Echopaw, but the wind itself. He crouched just slightly, readying. "Alright... go!" And he shot off, pounding over the grass. The wind blew from behind the two apprentices, egging them on. Rookpaw pumped his legs as fast as he could, forgetting Echopaw, not noticing the rabbit that dashed away. It was just him and the wind, his ebony paws skimming the grass, his tail stretched behind him. As they got closer to the Look-out Rock, more gorse and heather bushes appeared. He knew that they would slow most cats down. But the small tom weaved and dodged the tangled branches skillfully, even pelting through a small opening that no one but him could have fit through without scratching their fur off in the thorns. The wind followed him all the way. Rookpaw felt it brushing through his fur, pushing him faster, faster, moving his legs over the winter-hardened ground. Finally, Rookpaw skidded to a halt, nearly slamming into the large stone as he turned to avoid it. Panting, he looked around for Echopaw as he slowly came back to reality. [Just friends, I think.][/size]

And she was off, her paws barely touching the crusty grass below her ginger paws. The two apprentice's raced not for competing, but for the joy of wind and freedom. Her golden orbs closed in delight as she continued running through her memorized territory. The large breeze that blew throughseemed to lift her off the winter-hard ground, and she almost flew the rest of the measure. Rookpaw wasn't inches in front of her as the two felines nearly slammed into the giant boulder. A pant spread over her mouth, and she felt swet soak over her. Her optics reopened to gaze strait into the round apprentice-like eyes of the ebony Rookpaw across from him. Smooth. It came out as a breath, and she heaved once more after that before she breathed regularly again. A cute smile spread over her face. Even though she had lost the race, she was happy, happy for Rookpaw, and that he was happy.
Echopaw wiped a paw over her eyes, as if embarrased. Heh, you're fast...! She smiled widely, showing her perfect row of ivory teeth. She danced around as more flakes fell from the sky. She paused as a particularly large snowflake fell into place on her nose. She sneezed and fell to the floor in small giggles. Then she did the nly thing she could think of. She got down on all four paws, belly flat on the ground. The snow was thick of the ground now, perfect for a snowball fight.....! She splattered the cold white snow on Rookpaw's contrasting pelt, ivory and ebony. Ooooohh, but she didn't stop there, oooohhh noooo...! She rolled snow into a ball-like form, and through it into the air with her paw. Once in the air, she batted it with her forepaw, and oh did it fly! The small snowball hit Rookpaw smack in the face! Ohhhh was the fight on!

Rookpaw blinked in surprise. He had beat Echopaw? He licked his chest fur uncertainly. The ebony apprentice had had no idea he had gotten so fast. All he knew was that he loved the wind; and it seemed to love him in return. Smack! Rookpaw staggered back, blinking in surprise as he shook the cold, white fluff off his face. He looked at Echopaw, and the mischevous gleam in her eye. The fight wasn't over yet. Rookpaw's eyes twinkled. He scooped the snow around him quickly, balling it up and then he drew back his paw. He swung it forward, hooking the ball off the ground and right at Echopaw, hitting her square in the face. Sensing the battle was officially on, the black tom pelted around the look-out rock while Echopaw was still shaking snow off her face. As he crept up it silently, he formed the snow in front of him. When he reached the top of the rock, he carefully positioned it and pushed in gently. It rolled right over the side of the rock to splat directly on the ginger she-cat below. The apprentice tom laughed as the wind blew over his fur, whisping snowflakes over his ebony pelt.

The fae pursed out her lips, Rookpaw would never get away with that! She shook off all the snow that had suddenly dropped from above, seemingly instants after the first one. She scooped up a large ball of ice, and whirled it into the ice, the strong breeze making it faster still. SMACK. The ice ball hit Rookpaw in the back, and Echopaw couldn't hold back a flinch. She winced as the ice pushed him forward, and she instantly regretted through pure ice rather than snow. But she knew the ebony apprentice was strong, and he would manage, there would be tougher mazes in life.
She ducked out of the way, hidden behind a heather bush--yes, not much cover, but its better than nothing. The light sunset colors of the heather camofloughed Echopaw's light ginger pelt, which made it easier to stay hidden from her oponent. But she couldn't stay hiding forever. She darted past the lookout rock, and beside the opposite side that Rookpaw was near. Her stealth moves helped with her camofloughe and speed, another advantage. But Rookpaw was fast, he had just proved that with the race he had just won.
