Wind ruffled the trees at the top of the gorge, while between it's high walls the air was still. A small gray taby cat sat on a rock at the edge of the river, staring down into the water. Streampaw's green eyes gazed at the river, filling them with longing. Streampaw did not belong here. She was a RiverClan cat, used to lush grass and reeds, and tasty fish in the river. But SkyClan's camp was in the gorge, with the river empty of life except for a few small minnows from time to time; and the ground was hard stone with sharp rocks and sand. The dens were high in the cliff, and hard to reach for a cat without SkyClan's powerful hind legs for jumping and tough pads for living on stone. Streampaw's gaze followed the river, away from it's source and downriver. This river was the same river as back home in the forest. How could the same river be so different, leaving the gentle she-cat with terrible pangs of homesickness. Her reason for coming here was to help her friend, Darkheart, return to her mate after being swept down the river. But Darkheart and her mate had been killed by a badger. Cougarpaw, Streampaw's friend who had followed her on this long journey, had also been killed. Now she was in a foreign clan's territory, far from home and with cats she barely knew. She longed to go home, but could she do it alone...?
[Okay, that was kind of drawn out, but it made me depressed just writing it. Poor Streampaw!! ;-;]

Spike's black fur appeared from the bottom of the river. He'd never really been in water before, except when it rained, but it still wasn't the same. He wasn't breathing hard, but held one small fish in his clenched jaws. His strong paws paddled themselves to the edge, when at the same time him drifting down the river, close to where the silver apprentice sat. He pulled himself out, and shook off the water droplets, that seemed to already not have touched his oily fur. Now that he lived in a real clan, and not in BloodClan, he got to eat real food and not junk and left over rotting chicken two-legs threw out. The blood of the fish flowed through him as he bit it open, and the taste exploded and he closed his eyes and licked his lips. But before he took another bite, he saw out of the corner of his eyes the lone cat staring at the river with lonely and miserable orbs. He padded over to her, and laid his tail on her shoulder. "I can see from your eyes that you're missing something, terribly." His voice low, almost like he wanted to mone and cry with her. He brought over his minnow and offered her some.

"Yes..." Streampaw mewed quietly. She twitched her ears gratefully and took a bite out of the fish. She swallowed and continued to stare at the river. The same river as back home, and yet it was so different. There were no soft reeds along the sides, only rocks. The lush greenery of her home was nothing like the rocky terrain that was SkyClan's territory and camp. A sigh issued from the tabby apprentice. "I miss my home in RiverClan," she meowed softly.

"Are you planning to go back?" His voice was deep with worry, and he took another bite of the tiny fish to hide it. He felt sorry for this little apprentice, alothough he could not feel the same way about missing home, he felt it about someone else. The brute sighed slowly, and thought about the one he had loved. He missed her dearly just like Streampaw missed her home. He looked into her eyes, thinking that he already knew her answer. Spike looked around the area they were sitting at, this was the same river that was back with the other clans, she must feel closer to them here, although they look nothing alike. He blinked slowly, in memory of Bella, and for the sorrow in this apprentice's heart. If she wanted to go back to her clan, he could take her.

Streampaw stared at the water without responding. She didn't know the other cat's thoughts, only her own as they swirled through her mind. The only sound around the two foreign cats was the lapping of the water on rocks. Then Streampaw abruptly turned her head to the sky. "I'm going to go home," she meowed firmly. "Even if I have to go by myself. I'm sure everyone is waiting for me to come back." Green eyes, the same color as the leaves of a water plant, flashed with determination.
[Okay, that 'same color as the leaves of a water plant' was lame. But I couldn't think of anything else! ><]

[were all lame at some point ] Spike looked strait into her eyes, "I'll take you. If you like." His voice exposed no emotion, but he felt sorry for her, and would like to help. He looked back at the water, everything was quiet, peaceful, and he liked the lapping water sound. He didn't know how it was in riverclan, it seems like it would be almost annoying with the heavier water sound, he liked the small streams more. [eep! museless.]

[The river would be about the same size. Though the waterfall might be a bit louder. It's not very big though, so not as much as some.]
Streampaw turned to the former rogue. "Would you do that? I mean, you don't have to," the tabby apprentice meowed. She knew she would be grateful to have a companion, but Spike had just arrived at SkyClan. Not to mention, this was the place where his mate had died. Streampaw felt a pang in her heart at the thought. Her best friends had died her too. Darkheart... Cougarpaw... I'm sure they're watching me from StarClan. Streampaw thought.
[That was short, but I think it was pretty good, yay! I've been feeling out of it because of schoolwork. Gaaah, I've only got 3 days! -runs to do schoolwork-]

[wow. hurry lionstar! u can do it!!! *speedy cheering from the side lines* i hate school!]
Spike nodded his head, but didn't say anything. This is were Bella died, but she could follow me, or I could always come back and see her. But there was just no way that he could get to the clans and back here without rest and good food. He might have to stay with RiverClan for a quarter moon at least. Would he like that. He swallowed. "Yeah, Ill take you."
[Yipe! So short! I cant think of anything...]

". . . Thank you, Spike," Streampaw meowed. "If there is anything I can do for you in return, let me know." The apprentice jumped off the rock above the river and turned to Spike. "If were going on a long journey like that, we should get some rest. Why don't we leave in two sunsets? We'll have to get up early and if anyone asks, we can say we're going hunting," the gray tabby she-cat meowed.
[Short. >< Museless, too much happened this last week @_@]

Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight
Two sunsets, got it. And I dont need anything in return, as long as i get a place to rest. He smiled, this was a very smart she-cat, or at least for an apprentice. He was happy to be bringing her back, he feels sorry for her, missing her clan. He knows what thats like, and its not fun at all, especially if you know you wont ever see the one you miss again... Spike cleared his mind, he had more important things to think about. That's right, we need lots of rest and big, fresh kills. He started back to camp, wondering if Streampaw was going to follow. But he didn't turn back around, she didn't have to if she didn't want to, she might like it here.
Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight
(blink 182 - i miss you)

Streampaw trotted after Spike, heading for camp. Wind stirred through the gorge, causing the river to sweep over the rocks to their own music. At the end of Streampaw and Spike's journey, she would hear the music mixed with reeds instead of rock.
[museless ><]

Time waits for no one, sure as the tide pulls the ocean Sure as, the path that's been chosen, cannot be changed In my life's destination, I searched for the explanation For some kind of reason, for my sorrow and pain
Spike thought about the journey there were abpout to take, and it reminded him of his journey here, and meeting Bella. His orbs looked over the stretching land that leads to his brothers' clan, and the four other clans. He wondered what everone was doing, how they were surviving. He was glad it was green-leaf, but what would happen when it became leaf-bare again? He wanted to visit his old clan again, but he didnt know how they would process it, would they try to kill him, or would they remember him and welcome him back. But then again, he couldn't leave this place forever, Bella's soul remained here, and she would never forgive him for leaving her.
This is my journey, journey through life With every twist and turn I've laughed and cried As the road unwinds This is my journey, and I've learned to fight To make me strong enough, to lift me up, to bring my dreams alive
(911 - the journey)
