I've seen rumors all over that one of Squirrelflight's three kits - Jaypaw, Hollypaw, or Lionpaw - is actually Leafpool's kit. I'm curious as to what you guys think? Here is some evidence for both ways and possible arguements against them:
Points for one of them being Leafpool's kit:
-In the play "After Sunset: We Need to Talk", Leafpool has something important to tell Crowfeather. And has anyone else noticed that she stopped after Crowfeather mentioned that Nightcloud had his kits? Arguement: She could have had something else to say.
-Squirrelflight had her kits away from camp. So it would have been easier for Leafpool to sneak a kit of her's in with them. Arguement: Squirrelflight or someone still might have noticed. Especially when they were actually being born.
-If Hollypaw was Leafpool's kit, has anyone noticed that Tigerstar hasn't contacted her yet? He is only interested in his kin. Arguement: He doesn't care about her because she is a she-cat, or he doesn't think she has what it takes.
Points against one of them being Leafpool's kit:
-Someone would have noticed Leafpool was expecting. Arguement: No one found out about Yellowfang.
-Leafpool and Crowfeather would have had to mate at the same time as Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw. Arguement: The days vary and no one would notice a few days difference if she did it right.
-If Jaypaw were Leafpool's kit, Tigerstar wouldn't have been interested. Arguement: Tigerstar might not have known. Does he have the same power to watch over the clan cat's like StarClan? Even if he does, he can't watch all of them at once and he wouldn't be interested in Leafpool anyway.
-Leafpool would not only be getting away with breaking the warrior code, she is practically being rewarded seeing as her kits have the power of the stars. Arguement: Erin Hunter might not care. And, StarClan might not have had power over it. Did StarClan give the 3 kits the power of the stars, or was it something or someone else?
Also, some people have mentioned Leafpool and/or Squirrelflight acting strange about one of the kits doing stuff. Depending on which situation, it could go either way.
(If you know any others, let me know.)
Some people have also mentioned pelt and eye colors. Lionpaw has amber eyes, and so does Leafpool. But Brambleclaw and Tigerstar do, too. Jaypaw has blue eyes just like Crowfeather. All (or at least most) blind cats have blue eyes. Hollypaw has a black pelt just like Crowfeather. I haven't seen any that mention that Hollypaw has green eyes just like Squirrelflight, Firestar, and Sandstorm. To all of these, I have to say: The kits don't always have the same color eye or pelt as their parents!!! Leafpool has amber eyes, but both of her parents have green eyes! Each of the kits has different eye color, even if they are all Squirrelflight or Leafpool's kits!
Personality has also been mentioned. Personality cannot be passed on to kits except by hanging around with them!!
So what do you guys think? As for me, I am undecided. One huge hint to say that one of the kits is Leafpool's, is that Erin Hunter said that you might find some important clues as to what is going on in Power of Three in the play After Sunset: We Need to Talk. And the only one I can find is that she was going to have his kits. Like I mentioned in the first point. I have to say though, all the arguement against them not being Leafpool's kits seem pretty weak. I found arguements against the arguements. xD
And as a side note, don't you think the warrior code seems to be going down the drain? I mean, Firestar broke the warrior code several times, Graystripe and Silverstream broke the warrior code, Leafpool and Crowfeather broke the warrior code along with Feathertail, and not to be mean or against Firestar or what he's doing or anything, but it is against the warrior code to accept cats that are not clanborn. It's just like Warriors rpgs, way too much forbidden love and outsiders being accepted. Firestar was a special case. He was only accepted because of the prophecy, and that was only because only an outsider and even then only Firestar could see Tigerstar's treachery and have the courage to speak up and fight him. Sorry, I'm ranting. I was bored. One more and I'll shut up.
There is still the issue of timing of the births. Leafpool and Crowfeather would have had to have gotten together first, but it doesn't seem like Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw were there yet. If one was born prematurely, it would have been Jaypaw, but he is the one most suspected to be Leafpool's kit so that wouldn't make sense.
Why am I even ranting about this anyway? I guess it's cause I'm super bored and I happened to look at the play on the official warrior cats site and that got me thinking and yeah. Okay, I'm done. Wow, that's a long post. xD
