Icemoon hissed in horror as the giant winged monster dove into the camp. Its sharp talons were outstretched, and its beady eyes were placed upon a small and newly apprenticed fae. Ice blue orbs widened in fear, but she dove just in time to throw the apprentice out of the way.
Icemoon watched the dazed apprentice who didnt realize what was going on. She was blinking confusingly and cocked her head to the side, but didnt have enough time to figure things out before she got snared by the claw of the hawk. She screamed and charged out of the way, but the enormous bird followed, using its speed to catch up to the speedy femme.
Icemoon sprung to her paws and chased after the battling cats. She looked quickly around for other strong warriors to help fight off the hawk, but none were in sight, and if they were, they were helping elders around. A slight panic rose in her throat and she had a bad feeling about how this would end. The ivory she-cat sighed heavily and sent a silent prayer up to StarClan. Then she started up her motor and charged after in help of the apprentice.
The apprentice didn't know what to do, which led to her crazy act of just standing still. Icemoon had to rescue her and fight down the hawk and still the apprentice did nothing. Icemoon jumped upon the hawk, and it flapped its wings helplessly and surprisingly. The bird flung around, attempting to throw Icemoon off; it was no use. Icemoon had a strong grip through his claws upon the bird feathered neck. She hissed in despite of the birds oily feathers flying around the camp, catching in her mouth and blinding her. All she could see was cat fur and bird feathers. All she could hear was screeching; from both the hawk and cats. All she could taste was blood, and the thick taste of the enormous bird spreading throughout the camp.
The usual white coated Icemoon jumped off the frantic bird, and instead was covered in dirt, blood, and bird feathers. Icemoon gasped for breath, and tried to regain her ballance again. She blinked her eyes, trying to make out the shapes of the cats through the flurry of feathers. She looked around helplessly for her leader, and called his name out, but it was no use. With this sort of racket, you couldn't hear someone talking even if they were right next to you.

Lionstar stared in horror as the hawk dove for the dazed apprentice. Torn he glanced back and forth between the limping elder next to him and the apprentice across the clearing. A flash of white caught his eye and he watched Icemoon fling herself at the feathered predator. Gritting his teeth, the golden leader decided to trust the hawk to his warrior. He hurried the elder along and as soon as he was hidden, Lionstar dashed back out to the clearing. Bird feathers were everywhere, and dark spots of blood splattered the earth, clumps of white fur floating above. The ThunderClan leader tore across the clearing to where Icemoon was standing in the midst of the chaos. The screech of the hawk sliced the air, but it was high in the sky now. It weaved above the camp for a heartbeat before diving again. It flew straight toward Icemoon, who was still in a fog of feathers. Lionstar thrust forward, slamming into Icemoon and throwing her to the ground. Black talons brushed their fur as the hawk let out an angry cry. Lionstar jumped straight up, swiping at the bird. He felt his claws score the bird's underbelly and then it was out of reach. Another furious shreek and several tense heartbeats of circling and the hawk disappeared over the trees. Panting slightly from the rushing adrenaline and fight, Lionstar looked around for Icemoon. "Are you alright?" he asked, padding over to the white warrior. The apprentice had long escaped to her peers at the edge of camp. Lionstar could see the medicine cat hurrying over with a small clump of herbs.

The startled ivory fae knew nothing besides that she was knocked out the way. She didn't know who did it, but it saved her life. She watched the giant bird race past her, and another snowstorm of feathers. She closed her eyes tight, hoping the fierce battle would end rather soon. She took a deep breath. I'm a warrior. She kept telling herself.
The hawk dove again, but each time was knocked away by the all-so-powerful Lionstar. The gold leader fought so well and Icemoon admired his strength. Icemoon's vision began to clear and the flurry of feathers and fur were swept away. The hawk let out an ear-splitting screech, and fluttered away, hungry and injured.
Are you alright? Icemoon looked up to see her brave leader staring intently down at her. Her throat clogged up, and her eyes felt as if they were scortched dry. She felt horrible about leaving Lionstar alone to fight off the angry hawk. She swallowed the lump in her throat and took a deep breath. Yeah, I think so... She looked up at the golden, shining leader and half-smiled. I'm sorry about leaving you with the hawk to fight by yourself... She choked on the words, but eventually they all got out.
She looked down to the ground, almost ashamed of the fact she even mentioned it to him. She should have just put the fact that she was scared behind her and gotten up to fight. She pushed herself from the ground, only to yowl in pain and return to the floor once again. Her white body went limp below her, but she still remained consience. She sighed and waited for the medicine-cat to get to this side of the camo to treat her. She would make sure Lionstar got cared for before her, though.

"What are you talking about?" Lionstar meowed, blinking at the white warrior. "There is nothing wrong with being thrown aside in battle. It's happened to me as well, and it is fustrating. But there will be more battles, as long as this world continues to live." The golden tom's eyes were gentle, the color of the reeds along the river. Wisdom glimmered in the depths, the color of moss growing on stone. When the medicine cat had finished with the others, Lionstar beckoned her over with his tail. She looked at Lionstar but the golden tom nodded at Icemoon. "Icemoon is injured," he said firmly and added, "No complaints, Icemoon." Amusement glittered in his eyes as if he knew what she had been planning. "My scratches will heal without herbs." By now, the rest of the clan had crept out of hiding and things were returning to normal. One of the queens was gathering up the feathers with the help of a couple apprentices to use for bedding. They gathered them carefully, leaving the blood covered ones on the packed earth. The ThunderClan leader padded over and collected the blood stained feathers and asked an apprentice to take them out of camp and then to join a hunting patrol. The apprentice complied and bounded out of the camp. Then he padded up and told a warrior to organize a hunting party including the apprentice. Except for the bloodstains on the ground and Icemoon's injuries, it hardly seemed as though a hawk had attacked at all. And the bloodstains would fade quickly as ThunderClan moved on.

The usual bleached fur of the fae had mohagony stains splattered about. It looked like fallen leaves from Leaf-fall layed among the Leaf-bare snow. Icemoon opened her mouth as Lionstar spoke, taking in each word carefully, holding its meaning. She bit her tongue to hold back the remark that her injuries weren't nearly as import to cure as his, but she refused to disapoint her leader. She closed her eyes tight as the medicine-cat applied the herbs to her body. The weight of the flower being used, most likely marigold, felt strangely heavy against her abnormal lightness. Icemoon felt fragile and pathetic. A warrior wasn't supposed to loook or feel this way. Maybe she was just better off being a mother.
She wanted to ask Lionstar what he thought of the idea of her becoming only half time warrior, and the other half she would be nursing. But she had no clue how to ask, or even bring up that conversation. And who in this clan would ever mate with a cat like her? She was pretty sure none of these cats had any strong emotions for her, other than the family tie.
She waited patiently as the medicine-cat finished up with her and gave her instructions on what she could and couldn't do. She desperately wanted to go on the hunting patrol Lionstar was setting up, but on instruction on the "can't do" list was to hunt. She lay still for awhile, half hoping Lionstar would return to her side; probably not gonna happen. The white warrior rose to her feet, flinching as the pain stabbed her side. She brushed the pain away, breathed slowly, and continued forward. She waited until her leader finished with his speech with the surounding warriors before she spoke out.
Lionstar? Her voice sounded weak and vulnerable; her throat was dry, whether it was from blood or fear she didnt know. She tried to swallow the lump rising from below. It didn't work. Can I talk to you, maybe? If you're not too busy, that is... She tried not to act nervous or anxious, but she didn't know how well that came out. She bit her bottom lip, and took a step closer to the magnificent leader before her. There were new, fresh wounds layed upon his skin. Blood was dried and stained to his perfect fur, ruining the beauty, but making him look more warriorlike. Icemoon admired how he could look beautiful yet feirce at the same time. She couldn't admire anyone else, especially not with a long, gross-looking scar. She almost smiled.
