Silverbrook padded toward Sunningrocks, her silver fur rippling in the sunlight. Silverbrook had been sent out to get herbs by Whitewhisper. She wasn't quite sure why she was near the river, no herbs really grew in the area. Silverbrook just felt like taking a break from the endless stream of wounded warriors that had been coming into the medicine cat den.
The young silver tabby leapt lightly onto one of the sunningrocks and purred softly at the warmth underpaw. There was a splash in the river that caused Silverbrook to bristle. The soft-furred she-cat bristled and looked around only to see another cat coming toward her, soaking wet from the river.

The golden tom's muscles rippled smoothly as he pulled himself up out of the river. His coat was slick with water, yet it was drying fast. He lifted his head up a bit, as he smelled a ThunderClan cat near.
His eyes rested for a moment on the a silver she-cat sitting on on of the rocks. Her coat sparkled like diamonds and her fur was slick and silky. The tom sat down to look for a bit, trying to be as quiet as possible. He was never too good with she-cats ever since his last tragedy...

A growl rose in Silverbrook's throat. She wasn't completely helpless just because she was a medicine cat apprentice. Silverbrook leapt off of the Sunningrocks and bounded toward the tom hoping StarClan was truely on her side.
The normally gentle she-cat ran until she was a tail-length from the tom.
"What are you doing here?" Silverbrook snarled, trying to force herself to be aggressive like her clanmates. She was quiet, that was all ther was to it so the bravado didn't quite work as well as it did for others.

Sunstone took a few steps back as the she-cat pelted towards him. He let out a small chuckle and replied to her. Louder than she spoke. "I'm sorry, but I believe the border begins after the bank of the river." He spoke. The tom was indeed on the bank of the River, therefore on RiverClan territory.

Silverbrook let out a growl in frustration. "Thats what you say but even StarClan knows you can't trust a RiverClan toad" Silverbrook snarled, lashing her tail. "Why don't you go swim back to your fishy little friends. If you want to fight someone I won't die easily."

Sunstone let out a loud growl of annoyance. He lashed his tail and curled back his lips in the beginnings of a snarl. "What's your problem? I was actually admiring you before you went ahead and stared yelling!" he hissed. The tom's eyes soon grew softer as he realized what he had said.

Silverbrook frowned at the tom. "Like I care what a river rat thinks of me?" Silverbrook growled. "StarClan approves of me, that's all I care about. I'll fight you even without my clan. I'm not scared of an overgrown furball."
Silverbrook's soft-spoken nature was dieing fast replaced by a desire to serve her clan by chasing away this good-for-nothing RiverClan cat.

Sunstone let out a soft sigh and let his tail drop. He turned and began wadding slowly into the cool water. "Why can't I find another?" He said a little too loudly. His words had an edge of hate and sorrow, for his father and another cat. The tom was referring to his beloved Lilystream, a she-cat whom had been killed by his father. Sunstone had since the horrible day been looking to find a cat to replace her.

Silverbrook relaxed and let out a sigh. She decided to ignore the tom's comment. Besides, she was a medicine cat apprentice and he was an enemy warrior. Had he expected her to simply let him waltz into ThunderClan territory and get away with it? She may not be as strong as her clanmates but she wouldn't stand for intruders.
The silver she-cat sat on the bank, curling her bushy tail over her paws. She caught Sunstone's words and her heart softened a bit. There was nothing she could do however.
"No herb can heal a broken heart" Silverbrook meowed loud enough for him to hear her.

Ears pricked as she walked onto the bank, her voice soft and gentle. Sunstone stopped and turned around to face the she-cat. His eyes were soft and painful, any cat could see that he was going through a hard time. "So, what can?" he answered.

Silverbrook met the tom's gaze evenly. "As far as I know only time can heal a broken heart. Don't dwell on the fallen and ask for StarClan to aid you and they will answer. StarClan will not let their warriors suffer, even RiverClan cats."
Silverbrook got up and started heading toward the forest when the tom called out to her and she heard him splashing onto the bank.

His rippling muscles propelled the tom back onto the bank. His paws were itching to get to know this she-cat better, for she seemed to be a very wise and beautiful cat. "Wait, I'm Sunstone." he meowed.

Silverbrook looked back at him. "My name is Silverbrook, I am ThunderClan's medicine cat apprentice. It's nice to meet you as long as you don't go too far" Silverbrook meowed, flicking her bushy tail at the boarder. "As I said before, no herb can heal your broken heart. You'll just have to let time do its work."

Sunstone nodded his head and took a step back, away from the border. He let his eyes rest on Silverbrook's dappled fur. "What about another cat?" he questioned. The tom knew this was a soon-to-be medicine cat, but it never hurt to try..

"Then I suppose it's best to do your searching in your own clan" Silverbrook commented. "A broken heart is no reason to break the warrior code by taking a mate in another clan."
Silverbrook sat down near the bank, curling her bushy tail over her paws. Her silky fur caught the sunlight as she moved. Silverbrook couldn't help but wonder why Sunstone hadn't already found another mate. He was handsome enough, even if he was an enemy warrior from another clan. He wasn't disfigured or cruel-like, he looked like a nice tom wanting to repair a broken heart. Silverbrook sent a silent prayer to StarClan that he would find what he was looking for.
