Silverbrook felt her body being pulled onto land and tried feebly to help but her limbs gave out. She fell onto the bank, coughing up mouthful of water until her throat was raw. Silverbrook's body shivered and shook as she coughed up water, not mixing with blood from her throat becoming raw. The silver she-cat went limp, gasping for breath, water churning in her chest, making her breathing ragged and labored.
Silverbrook's vision was blurry but she caught sighed of a golden tom. Lionstar? No he was in camp. Runningtail? Not was a tom. Who else? Sunstone? Why? He's RiverClan? Silverbrook couldn't understand why he had saved her but she was too dazed to ask. Instead she let her body go limp, too tired to move.

Sunstone's eyes traveled quickly over her body. he began licking against her pelt, trying to warm up her body. He let out a small yelp as he noticed the fleck of blood on the ground. "You're going to be alright, Silverbrook." he meowed. The tom tilted his head a bit. Was he helping the she-cat he was just screaming at?

Silverbrook coughed again and tried to push away from Sunstone. He shouldn't be helping her, was RiverClan. If he was caught he'd get into huge trouble. The silver tabby took several ragged breaths, trying to control her shivering body.
Silverbrook coughed again. She was at the mercy of a RiverClan cat. But he had saved her...would he hurt her? Kill her? Take her to the RiverClan leader?
Silverbrook's mind was foggy and she found it hard to think. The welcoming darkness on the edge of her vision seemed so nice....rest....sleep....it seemed so nice......
The silver tabby let her body go limp again, eyes half closed. She didn't care anymore. If Sunstone killed her because she had yelled at him then he had every right to. She was too tired to fight anymore.

Sunstone stood up as he tried to push away from him. If she feel asleep now, she might not wake up. Sunstone lay beside her and continued trying to warm up her body. He could see that she was shivering, so her lie closer to her, his own body heat radiating off and towards her own. "I won't hurt you. Just don't fall asleep." he meowed softly.

"S...stars" Silverbrook rasped quietly as small sparks of light loomed in front of her eyes. Go figure...she'd die trying to go back to ThunderClan. Strange how these things happen....
Silverbrook went into a coughing fit again, water in her chest making her breathing rattle. She needed juniper. Silverbrook summoned up what was left of her strength.
"J....juniper" Silverbrook rasped. She knew they grew near the river. She needed them to help her breathing.
Silverbrook rested her head near whatever was heating her body. It was nice....soothing.....maybe dieing wasn't so bad. Silverbrook let out a soft sigh, her eyes unfocused.

The ginger tom's ears pricked as a weak voice exited her mouth. He nodded his head rapidly and bounded off towards the river. In his years of being a rouge, a medicine cat had taught him a few things about medicine, as he lived by the moonstone. The tom distinctively remembered juniper berries, since kits in RiverClan are always falling into the river.
He picked is way along the bank, his eyes franticly searching the edge for the small berries. He soon caught their scent and found them growing next to a clump of reeds. The tom carefully picked a healthy stem and bounded back to the she-cat. The tom held them close to her muzzle, trying to get the she-cat to eat them. She had too, or he would have been the last face she saw.

Silverbrook ate the herbs offered by Sunstone. Her breathing eased but it still hurt. The silver cat used her front paws to push half her body off the ground, half standing. Silverbrook fell back onto the ground when her limbs gave out.
She was shivering now, trembling with her eyes half closed. Silverbrook slowly turned her gaze to Sunstone and let out a soft, raspy purr that gave way to a coughing fit that wracked her body in shivers. When the coughing subsided Silverbrook's green eyes met Sunstone's gaze.
"Thank you" Silverbrook rasped.

Sunstone prayed silently to StarClan as she took the herbs. He rested his gaze on her body, but began to back up a few paces when she began shivering uncontrollably. He had never dealt with such a sever case of near-drowning before. He took a deep breath and slid in close to Silverbrook. She probably didn't like getting help from a RiverClan cat, especially a tom, but they both knew she needed it. "Your welcome" he meowed quietly.

Silverbrook let herself go limp for a while, trying to recover from the shock. After a few minutes Silverbrook slowly pushed herself up onto unsteady paws. Her long silver fur clung to her slender body making her look about the size of an apprentice. Silverbrook stumbled to a nearby boulder and leaned against it, eyes closed.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into the river again Sunstone" Silverbrook rasped. "I bet I'm the last cat you ever wanted to save so thank you and StarClan bless you. I'll head back now, I think I can make it now."
Silverbrook's soft-spoken lie was as thin as the air. Her paws were only just barely able to hold her weight and she was still shivering. The idea of going into the river again made her shivering worse and fear flickered in her eyes.

Sunstone looked towards the she-cat. He wasn't even a medicine cat and he could tell, she wasn't fit enough to cross the river. He gave a soft and sharp sigh as she spoke, her words clinging to him for a few moments. The tom took a few steps forward. He stood before the she-cat, blocking her way to the river. "You and I both know your not fit enough to cross the river. And, you're wrong. There are many cats I would never in my life save before you."

Silverbrook sighed warily, sinking shakily into a crouch, tucking her paws under her. "I can't stay here Sunstone, I have to go back to my clan. Whitewhisper might notice that I'm gone. They'll all notice if I don't get back before nightfall. I don't have time to stay here. I have to keep your scent off of me and gather herbs before night."
Silverbrook knew she was ranting. She felt like she was going to die from the stress. Always gathering herbs, tending to her clan, checking kits and elders. It would stress anyone out. Silverbrook had been busier then usual and it was starting to get to her.

Sunstone stayed his ground, his golden tail laying gently on the sandy bank of the river. His leaf green optics held Silverbrook's confused and stressful gaze. He took an uneasy paw step forwards, uncertain of how she would react to him beings closer to her. When she didn't recoil, he stalked swiftly to her shoulder, and sat down lightly. Curling his tail around his paws neatly. "Both of us know you are in no condition to travel." he began. "What could be worse, a scolding from Whitewhisper and mabey Lionstar, or collapsing while trying to get to ThunderClan territory, even drowning in the river." He waited a moment to let the words sink in. Then, he stood, stretched his muscles, and began to walk off towards his own territory. "It's your decision, but I suggest you sty here until you are fit to travel back to ThunderClan."

Silverbrook stared at Sunstone. "Why in StarClan's name do you care? More RiverClan cats would have let me drown the first time, or kill me for simply being here at all. Especially after I yelled at you, why would you waste your time on a cat like me?"
Silverbrook's quiet, soft-spoken nature was quickly catching up with her again. She desperately wanted to run back to ThunderClan and get away from Sunstone. He made her feel....strange. It wasn't a sickness but it almost felt like one. Her heart was pounding in her chest so loud she was sure he could hear it and for some reason she felt even quieter and shy-er then normal around him. It was odd but it was a pleasant feeling all the same.

Sunstone let out an angry hiss. He was tired of this she-cat always disregarding RiverClan cats! RiverClan cats can swim and hunt fish better then any other Clan. They aren't weak fish heads either. And they are certainly not heartless. "Why do you think all RiverClan cats are heartless? If you think we are cold, then you'll have quite a problem with ShadowClan." He gave another angry hiss and stalked off towards a large clump of reeds.

Silverbrook rolled her eyes. It wasn't just RiverClan she had a problem with. It was ShadowClan and WindClan at times. It seemed like the fighting never ended. That's why she had become a medicine cat. Left in camp for days on end, she had no information to go on but the words of warriors. Nothing they said was ever very nice. Look at it from a medicine cat's point of view and you'd see the same thing.
The silver she-cat looked toward the river. She could sense Sunstone nearby but didn't worry. He wouldn't, couldn't, attack her. She was a medicine cat apprentice. Instead, Silverbrook settled herself on the bank, very near the water incase she needed to flee a patrol.
"I am so pathetic" Silverbrook muttered. "I probably wouldn't even be able to lift a claw against another cat. I guess medicine cat is the only life I have to look forward to. No kits, no mate. Wait, what am I talking about? The clan is my kits. Why am I even thinking about this?"
Silverbrook shook the thoughts away miserably as the reeds nearby rustled. Silverbrook figured it was probably Sunstone leaving.
